DGH board member and Estancia, El Salvador coordinator Dr. Joel Sawady, will speak at Harvard Medical School, Cambridge Health Alliance Internal Medicine Grand Rounds this week.

Joel will discuss the connection between community health work in El Salvador and patient care here in Massachusetts.

  • Understand the context surrounding many of our patients who have immigrated from Central America
  • Learn how that context impacts health outcomes and healthcare interactions for our immigrant patients
  • Learn about a model of long-term accompaniment for community health in marginalized communities
