Dear DGH Friends,

María Santos Rosalía Luna lives with her daughters and grandchildren in a mountainside village called Colón. 

Our Emergency Medical Assistance Fund has been established for the care of high-risk patients like María.  

She has long suffered from the impacts of diabetes, including hair loss, unusual thirst, and loss of sensation in her legs which ultimately led to an entire leg amputation.

Managing her diabetes has proven too expensive for her. Her diabetes remains uncontrolled, and she is treated with limited medications available in a restricted setting. 

The Emergency Medical Assistance Fund will help high-risk patients like María. As part of our long-standing commitment to community accompaniment, is critical that we act now.
